“Learning Deficiency reading”

a-The first of the several reasons that design schools have yet to change their ways is that as American “we loath to change patters of consumption in order to protect the environment.” The second reason worth noting is that sustainability is hard to communicate and engage to clients and to designers due to the radical change in process.
b-The suggestions made by the author to incorporated the idea of sustainability as the “best design practice” in to curriculum is; a combination of projects that help that push the sensitivity of production, energy flow and materials used. The projects should also address waste reduction and redefinition.
c-We can play the leading role berceuse we “ explore and explain complex systems”. As designers we communicate visually an emotion, story, advertisement, whatever subject that is needed to be communicated.
d–The requirements for sustainable curriculum are; broad social engagement, cross-disciplinary and collaborative teaching structures and the capacity to seek out and integrate knowledge of “best practice” that goes beyond the standard isolated professional practice.

As far as packaging is concerned im looking at using paper mache hexigonal boxes as a 3D mock up for my packaging... in the "real" world i want my packaging to be hepm... an all natural paper product that is 100% biodegradable and so good for the planet when grown... What makes this the ideal choice is that i want my audiance to be able to compost or throw away the packaging with out having any feelings of guilt...

Post 002

Hello,

While looking for the types of tea that i want to incorporate into my project i have to first understand my audience. Looking at 25-40 year old affluent people as my subject pool im deciding on branding towards the morning crowd. These people have to get up and get ready for work, in that aspect i want my teas to be quick and easy while still keeping the "Green" aspect in check. My logo needs to reflect these ideals and remain simple many of you saw the ideas im playing with... ill have sketches posted on Monday. I still need to simplify, maybe even over simplify to create a better design. We will see. CHEERS Y'ALL!!!

P.S. check out my music blog I will be expanding it throughout the semester... so chech it out you might like what you find... maybe... http://brutallegend.blogspot.com/

Entry 001

Hello All,

This is the infamous Klay. You might remember me from my other blog http://brutallegend.blogspot.com. I'm back to blog on a subject that involves tea, sustainability, design and a whole bunch of other stuff provided by yours truly, the Internet, and my fellow peers. Look for more stuff like sketches and ideas and websites to come in the following weeks. So keep it real, keep it fresh and drink Tea, cuz its good ya doofus.
